Welcome!
On behalf of the faculty and students in the Department of Psychology at Miami University, we extend a welcome to you and thank you for visiting our website. Our department is dedicated to offering undergraduate and graduate students diverse opportunities for in-depth learning. Students have a wide variety of opportunities for coursework with faculty who emphasize engaged learning and discovery in their classrooms. In addition, students gain experience through hands-on work in faculty research labs and in undergraduate honors theses, graduate masters theses, and dissertation research. The department also sponsors local chapters of two national honorary societies: Psi Chi is an undergraduate student honor society for talented psychology majors; and Nu Rho Psi is an honorary for undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty with interests in neuroscience. The Center for Psychological Inquiry is intended to facilitate student engagement in psychology by providing students with a focal point for learning about the practice of psychology, as well as an opportunity to develop a sense of community within the department.
As you explore the website you will find more detailed information about our talented faculty and students, our undergraduate program, and our graduate program which offers specialization in clinical psychology, social psychology, and brain and cognitive science. If you would like to speak directly with me or any of our faculty and staff please send an e-mail through the Contact Us link or call the departmental office at 513-529-2400. We look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,
Leonard S. Mark, Ph.D.
