Capt. Jason G. Willis
Hello, I am Captain Jason Willis. I became a patrol officer at Miami in the summer of 1997. After working as a patrol officer, I was promoted to sergeant in 1999. In the summer of 2004 I was promoted to lieutenant and proudly served as Patrol Commander for our police department. In January of 2006 I received the promotion of Captain and the position of Operations Commander. I have a Bachelor of General Studies Degree from Ball State University and a Masters of Science Degree from the University of Cincinnati. I am a 2003 graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command and a 2006 graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
As Operations Commander, I am responsible for the day-to-day operations of the police department. I oversee Patrol and the Office of Criminal Investigations. Detectives meet with me on a daily basis, keeping me up to date on the status of their current cases. I am also an active member of our department’s Community Relations Team. Of all of my duties and responsibilities at MUPD, I would have to say that this is my favorite.
