Fingerprint Service Information

Civilian Background Checks can be obtained electronically through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation. Our department has two systems in place, Webcheck 4.0 and National Webcheck 1.0.

Many individuals come in to be fingerprinted; some reasons include student teaching, working in schools, working with elderly, in daycares, churches, banks and many other types of employment fields. The state of Ohio requires both Ohio and FBI background checks for any employee of a school district within the state.

Turn Around Time

Ohio Background Checks are usually available in 3-5 business days from the time they were submitted*
FBI and Ohio Background Checks are usually available in 5-7 business days from the time they were submitted*

*Note: All background checks are submitted electronically, please keep in mind, turn around times will vary due to out-of-state results being sent to our department via U.S. mail or computer issues. These listed turn around times are what we consider to be "usual".
