ALA Freedom from Smoking Online Class

(Currently not approved for Healthy Miami)

Visit the American Lung Association’s website to enroll in a FREE online version of “Freedom from Smoking.” Quitting smoking can evoke a lot of feelings: fear, resentment, relief, and so on. If you stay committed to the program and complete all of the assignments you have a good chance of remaining smoke-free for good. Millions of people have quit smoking and you can do it too!

GREAT AMERICAN SMOKEOUT

The Great American Smokeout helps raise awareness about the benefits of smoking cessation and provides smokers with the resources and support they need to quit smoking for the day. Quitting smoking is not easy, but it is a fight you can win. By using self-help materials, medication, and/or support programs for your quit attempt, you can double your chances of being successful. By using more than one of these resources, you can increase your chances of staying quit for good.

Every November, EHWB encourages you to join us in celebrating our smoke-free campus by participating in our own Great American Smokeout, called “Blow Bubbles, Not Smoke!” If you would like to quit smoking, we will provide you with smoking cessation information throughout the month of November. In addition, EHWB will provide all participants with a quit kit, so that they are prepared for their quit attempt in more ways than one. The quit kits will include coupons for nicotine replacement therapy (Nicoderm CQ, Nicorette gum, or Commit lozenges), a stress ball, and information about how and why you can quit smoking.

If you would like to join the EHWB Great American Smokeout, learn more about smoking cessation, and/or learn how to help others quit smoking, please contact EHWB by email at healthandwellbeing@muohio.edu or 513-529-EHWB.
