Compensation at Miami University
The compensation area is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of the University's classification and pay programs with the exception of faculty. Some of the services that we provide include:
- Evaluation of newly created positions
- Conduct job evaluations/audits
- Conduct wage surveys and market studies
- Manage pay and classification programs including the PRIDE Award
- Assist departments with reorganizations
- Ensure compliance with University policies and procedures as they relate to compensation and classification
- Ensure compliance with related state and federal laws
- Obtain work visas (except faculty) and offer consultation to management on visa related issues.
SATSS & AFSCME CLASSIFICATION PLAN
The University has a broadbanding classification plan for SATSS and AFSCME employees. The program emphasizes flexibility, staff development and performance.
The Advisory Committee on Classified Staff Pay Zone Minimums was formed in October 2003. The committee made recommendations in 2008 with pay zone minimums adjusted effective July 1, 2008.
