As one of the many voluntary programs offered by Healthy Miami, the Premium Discount Program is available to benefit-eligible employees and their spouse/SSDP covered under Miami's health plan. Completing program requirements every calendar year allows the employee to qualify for health premium discounts for the following calendar year.
Employees hired, or becoming benefit-eligible, on or after January 1 of the current year, automatically receive the discount for the current year, but must complete the program in the curent year for the discount in the following year.
Employees hired, or becoming benefit-eligible, on or after July 1 of each year will automatically receive the discount for the following year.
Each step equals one point. As steps are completed, points are uploaded into each participant's online *Healthy Miami Account. Miami does not receive any private medical information. Information is collected by our Healthy Miami partners, McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital and Humana, and then uploaded into the online account through Cerner Corporation. Benefits & Wellness does collect the Tobacco Free Certification and then gives the information to PureWellness for upload.
It may be unreasonably difficult or medically inadvisable for some individuals to complete some of these steps. This generally includes individuals who are pregnant, lactating, or medically compromised (for example, individuals in hospice care, those mentally incapacitated, those undergoing extended hospital stays, individuals recovering from a stroke or head injury, other serious conditions, and those with prolonged medical treatments and/or rehabilitation).
