Miami Metro bus routes - Nighttime Door to Door - Access Miami

The Miami Metro includes several transportation services on Miami's Oxford campus and in the Oxford area.

      Miami Metro severe weather operations:

      • All services (Metro bus routes, Nighttime Door to Door and Access Miami) may experience delays or may terminate service as weather and road conditions necessitate. Call 513-524-2877 for information and updates.

Oxford Campus Service
The Miami Metro Bus provides transportation around the campus, uptown, and to several off-campus student housing areas. Four routes–Blue, Red, Green and Yellow–interconnect so passengers can ride within the area by transferring from one route to another. Students who are currently registered may ride the Miami Metro Bus; faculty and staff are eligible to purchase a bus pass.

  • The buses operate daily during fall and spring semesters excluding University recognized holidays.

  • There is no Metro service during the summer.
  • Lost & Found: Please call 524-2877 to inquire about a personal item left on a Metro bus.

Miami Metro Express Routes from Ditmer and West Millett

  • Faculty and Staff members do not require a ride pass to ride the campus express routes from Ditmer or Millett.

  • Miami Metro Express One will leave Millett West parking lot approximately every 20 minutes between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on days classes are in session. After leaving Millett, the Express One will include stops at Talawanda and Sycamore, Laws, Rowan, McGuffey, King Library/Ogden Bell Tower, Withrow Court and will then return to Millett.

  • The Express Two will run in the opposite direction with stops at Talawanda and Sycamore, High and University, Campus Avenue Bldg, McGuffey Museum, Shriver, Benton, Withrow Court and back to Millett.

  • The Ditmer Express departs every 30 minutes between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. when classes are in session. After leaving Ditmer the Express goes to Western Campus, Morris Hall, the Shriver Center, Phillips Hall, the Recreational Sports Center, the corner of Chestnut & Campus Ave, the Student Health Center, the Campus Avenue Bldg, McGuffey Museum, the Shriver Center and then return to Ditmer.

Scheduled Hours of Operation during Fall and Spring semesters

  • PEAK HOURS, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. buses operate on the Blue, Green, Red and Yellow Routes about every 15 minutes.

  • EVENING HOURS, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. buses operate on the Blue, Green and Red Routes about every 30 minutes and on the Yellow Route every 20 minutes.

  • LATE HOURS, Monday through Thursday, from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. and Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. buses operate on the Blue and Red Routes about every 30 minutes.

  • SATURDAYS, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Sunday, buses operate on the Blue and Red Routes about every 30 minutes.

  • SUNDAYS, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday, buses operate on the Blue and Red Routes about every 30 minutes.

  • The routes and schedules described above are subject to change in order to provide the best possible service. Individual approximate times are posted at each bus stop.

  • There is no Metro service during the summer.

Access Miami

Access Miami is a service offered to students with disabilities. The service transports students to and from residences, classrooms, and medical offices in the Oxford area. Students who need a transport with Access Miami should call 529-2277. Access Miami operates 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

During fall and spring semesters the service provides door-to-door transportation around campus and in the Oxford area. Students needing disability access transportation to classes and medical appointments have priority over students requesting disability access transportation to their residence. Service on the College Corner Pike will be extended to student residences and medical facilities only. Metro buses are not equipped for disability access. This service is available only on specially-equipped buses or the Access Miami van. The service operates during the Metro's regular schedule.

Nighttime door to door service (NDD)

The Nighttime door to door (NDD) van provides transportation for persons traveling singularly or in pairs who might otherwise travel alone during evening hours. Call 529-2277 for this service. Operating hours are Monday-Wednesday, 6pm-2am, and Thursday-Sunday, 6pm-4am.

Nighttime Door to Door now offers service between off-campus locations:

  • Nighttime Door-to-Door (NDD), Miami University’s evening transport service, now will provide off-campus to off-campus transports, effective Thursday evening, 05 April 2007.

  • Students may request a ride with NDD by calling 529-2277; a recorded message will provide information on the service, including operating hours and direct cell phone contact with the van.

  • The average NDD transport this year is completed within 14 minutes.

  • Nighttime door-to-door operates Monday through Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. , and Thursday through Sunday, 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. Students calling NDD may also ride the Miami Metro when their destinations are on or near a Metro route.

NDD service is not provided to addresses on the College Corner Pike, west of Locust and Church Streets.
In order to provide maximum efficiency of the NDD van, please consider using the Miami Metro Bus as it may stop at or near your destination.

Hamilton Campus Route

Round-trip bus service between Miami's Hamilton and Oxford campuses is provided daily during the academic year. No Metro service is provided during breaks or on holidays. Check the link for the Hamilton campus bus schedule.

Metro Service to Cincinnati & Dayton Airports

Miami Metro offers transportation service between the Shriver Center Center and the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky and Dayton International Airports. The service is available only during Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring breaks. Check the link for details or call the Shriver Center Box Office at 529-3200. Charter Bus Service

Charter bus service is available for your special event. Call the Miami Metro operations office at 524-2877 for information.

Bus Passes for Faculty and Staff

Miami students are required to present a valid MU student ID card as a pass upon request. Faculty and Staff may ride the shuttle busses from Millett and Ditmer without a ride pass. However, off-campus bus routes require a bus pass. Faculty and Staff may purchase a current bus pass sticker at the Shriver Center business office.
