Professional Highlights: 

Dr. Russo teaches local government management, public administration, policy analysis and quantitative methods. He conducts research on local government, state-local relations, local fiscal policy, and strategic analysis for local government. Dr. Russo’s research has been published in peer reviewed research journals including, State and Local Government Review, Publius:The Journal of Federalism, and Public Administration Quarterly. He also has published articles in Township News, and Cities and Villages.

Professor Russo is also the founding Director of Miami’s Center for Public Management and Regional Affairs (CPMRA), which is housed in Miami’s Public Administration program. Professor Russo has over 25 years of experience working on various boards and commissions ranging from local government, non-profit corporations, professional associations, neighborhood associations, and civic groups. In addition, he has conducted many workshops and training sessions for various agencies and organizations on team building, budgeting, planning, economic development, conflict management, and personnel policies and procedures. He currently serves as Chair, of the City of Oxford Civil Service Commission.

Dr. Russo was named Miami University's 2011 Outstanding Professor of the Year by ASG & CAC.
