On Wednesday, September 30, Bryan Marshall gave a talk to the department recounting his experiences as a Congressional Fellow in Washington D.C. Bryan was selected as the William Steiger Fellow in the 2008-09 class of the American Political Science Association Congressional Fellows. He served as Policy Fellow for the House Majority Whip, the Honorable James E. Clyburn.
The talk was held over lunch in the new Departmental Lounge, and was attended by faculty and graduates. In his presentation, Bryan discussed how the fellowship provided him with a rare opportunity to learn about party leadership, the leadership’s relationship with the party caucus and committee system, as well as the executive branch.
