Center for Public Management and Regional Affairs

• engages in applied public policy and management research, technical assistance services, training and education, and database development in the areas of public management and capacity building, local government economic development, planning, and public program evaluation and policy research
• provides assistance to local governments (counties, municipalities, and townships) across the state
• facilitates the university's teaching and research mission by serving as a practical laboratory for students pursuing studies and careers in public affairs.

Havighurst Center for Russian and Post-Soviet Studies 

is devoted to:

• joint research at Miami by scholars both from Russia and the other post-Soviet states and from American universities
• service and learning activities for the Miami student community to enrich their own understanding of this region
• programs designed to foster interdisciplinary research on the most important questions relating to the future of this area
