Associate Professor of Philosophy
Metaphysics, Epistemology, Philosophy
of Mind
B.A., Rutgers; M.A., Ph.D., University
of Michigan
My areas of specialization are:
metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy
of mind. My metaphysical interests
are broad-ranging. Regarding epistemology,
I am especially interested in naturalized
and social theories. In philosophy
of mind I concentrate on cognitive
scientific issues, particularly those
arising from artificial intelligence
practice and theory. I have historical
interests in Plato and selected philosophers
of the rationalist tradition. I have
offered courses in various 20th Century
philosophers, including Wittgenstein,
Frege, and Russell. As a sideline,
I teach deductive logic to a moderately
advanced level.
