“The unfolding of the rational
world which issues forth from
our enfolding mind, exists for
the sake of the fabriatrix herself
[i.e., the mind]. Indeed,
the more subtly the mind is contemplated
in the world unfolded by the mind,
the more abundant the fruit it
produces in its interior.”

The essence of development (the
perfectibility of humanity and nature)
is at the core of my interests. One
focus of this is ethics: the issue
of progressing and non-relativist
moralities. Another is that of social
policy: the proper criterion of a
progressive policy and evaluations
of specific social policies. A third
is the matter of numan nature, its
historicity and progress. I am also
interested in the relations of these
to what is Ultimately Real. Thus I
teach and write about virtue ethics,
progress and growth, abortion, and
fascism. I am also interested in the
history of philosophy, especially
the dialectical tradition from Plato
to Marx and beyond.
