"Good sense is the best distributed thing in the world: for everyone thinks himself so well endowed with it that even those who are the hardest to please in everything else do not usually desire more of it than they possess." René Descartes

My main interest is in epistemology, especially from the perspective of Husserlian phenomenology and related thought (e.g., Descartes, Kant, Hume, and some contemporary Continental approaches). My current research concerns the concept of objectivity. I am also interested in the epistemological aspects of value theory, particularly the issue of the relationship between the true and the good, the rational and the moral. I am presently Editor of the journal Husserl Studies.
