Filling the Silent Room:
Creating Student-Centered Discussion
Is your classroom ever silent when it comes time to talk about literature or writing? Are you looking for lively and thoughtful classroom discussions? The goal of this workshop is to provide teachers with resources and strategies to raise the level and quality of discussion in their classroom. You will explore the foundations of student-centered discussions, read current teacher research, and practice strategies for leading whole-class, small-group, and peer-to-peer discussions.

The cost for this one-credit-hour workshop is $539.95 without Miami’s TEAM Scholarship or $282.48 with the scholarship.
