About the NSSE
A national survey conducted by the Center
for Postsecondary Research at Indiana University, the NSSE assesses the extent to which undergraduates engage in a variety of educationally effective activities. Students respond to questions about how they spend their time and what skills they are developing as the result of their college enrollment. More than 2.7 million students from 1,493 colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada have participated in the NSSE since 2000.
Population: First-year students and seniors in the spring semester
Topics: Students' academic experiences and satisfaction; includes questions such as the number of term papers they wrote for courses, the level of academic challenge they perceive in courses, etc.
Related Surveys: The NSSE is a national survey designed to be paired with the BCSSE and FSSE
