About the NSSE
A national survey conducted by the Center
for Postsecondary Research at Indiana University, the NSSE assesses the extent to which undergraduates engage in a variety of educationally effective activities. Students respond to questions about how they spend their time and what skills they are developing as the result of college. A full version of the NSSE questionnaire can be found on NSSE's website.

The NSSE sample includes first-years students and seniors on the Oxford campus. As of 2009, more than 1300 colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada have participated in the NSSE. Miami University participated in the NSSE in 2000,
2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009.
