The CIRP (Cooperative Institutional Research Program)
survey is a long-standing annual survey that hundreds
of institutions across the country participate in.
Miami has participated since 1970. Some of the questions
have changed over the years, but in general the survey
provides both a good snapshot of incoming freshmen
views (about politics, social issues, their high school
preparation, their goals for college and life, etc.)
and some interesting trends. This web page has links
to some summarized findings from Miami's CIRP data,
including some trend data and comparisons of Miami's
responses to those of other universities across the
country.
