The Undergraduate Research Award Program increased funding to include an additional competition in the fall semester. Students may choose to apply in Round 1, Fall Semester or Round 2, Spring Semester. See deadlines below. Or view the current guidelines on the web.

All Miami University enrolled full-time undergraduates on all campuses are eligibile.

The URA program provides an opportunity for undergraduates to be introduced to the world of research and scholarly projects. Miami’s Undergraduate Research Program encourages students to initiate and carry out small-scale, independent research projects in any discipline. Students can develop and implement either a practical or a creative study under the supervision of a faculty member. Individual awards or group project awards usually range from $150 to $1,000 and are made available through the Miami University Senate Committee for Undergraduate Research. These awards provide support for independent scholarly activities.

Additional Benefit

Applications to the Undergraduate Research Program are also automatically considered for specific departmental awards. OARS will automatically foward applications by students working with a faculty sponsor in these departments for consideration.
