Bruker BioSpin and Miami University Announce First Avance™ NMR
Spectrometer with 850 MHz UltraShield™ Magnet in North America
Oxford, Ohio, October 11, 2006 - Bruker BioSpin Corp. and Miami University
announce that the first Avance™ II 850 US2 NMR system in North America has been ordered from Bruker BioSpin for delivery in 2007. Ranked among the top public universities in the nation, Miami University is the first institution to purchase an 850 MHz NMR in the United States. Miami University has coupled this NMR purchase with the purchase of a Bruker AXS PROTEUM™ X-ray protein crystallography system.
The unique 850 MHZ US2 NMR magnet combines Bruker BioSpin's proprietary
UltraStabilized™ and UltraShield™ technologies, delivering a high-field magnet with the benefits of active-shielded technology. The resulting small footprint requirement for the 850 US2 will allow Miami University to locate the system in the planned renovation of Hughes Hall. The increased sensitivity and resolution offered by the AVANCE II 850 US2 NMR system allows the advanced studies of protein structures and complexes, measurement of ligand binding thermodynamics as well as metabonomic studies of biofluids.
