Survival Skills and Ethics Program (RCR seminar series)
This semester, we are launching an exciting program specifically
tailored for MU faculty on RCR entitled the Miami University RCR
Faculty Development Initiative-Survival Skills and Ethics Program!
This program, which is being funded through a grant by the University
of Pittsburgh and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will
consist of a series of workshops that will focus on several key
areas related to ethical conduct in research and will also address
how to be successful in an academic environment. The topics will
include the following:
1) Research Ethics 101-Implementing Responsible Conduct of Research
Skills in Your Classroom
2) Conflicts of Interest and Intellectual Property
3) Mentoring in Academia: How to Seek An Effective Mentor for
Junior Faculty
4) Developing and Establishing Your Research and Scholarship Agenda
(Sciences)
5) Developing and Establishing Your Research and Scholarship Agenda
(Social Sciences & Humanities)
6) Writing for Research Publication: The Role of Responsible Authorship
7) Research Misconduct
8) Data Management and Record Keeping Skills for the Sciences
9) Data Management and Record Keeping Skills for the Social Sciences
10) Interdisciplinary Research: How to Work with Multiple Authors
& Research Teams
Participation in the RCR-Survival Skills and Ethics Program
is through registration only and space for each seminar is limited
to 20 persons each to allow for interaction and discussion. A light
lunch will be provided. All seminars will be held in the
Shriver Center from 12-1:30 pm. To register to attend one of the
