IACUC Application

Animal Researchers:

I write to inform you of important changes in the process of submitting animal care and use protocol applications.

First, we have revised the form to make the application easier to understand and to fill-out (set-up as a MS Word fill-in form).

Second, the IACUC has approved a process to submit the forms for the most part electronically (as PDF files) to speed up the review process and to save paper. You will still need to submit a minimum number of hard copies of the application and the literature searches to OARS (original signed application and three copies), but you will no longer need to submit 13 copies. The form is available at the top right of this page. A detailed set of instructions on the application process is contained on the cover page of the new form.

Finally, most correspondence you will receive from me regarding protocol reviews and approvals will be electronic and sent via email. Again, this will save significant time in the turnaround of reviews, etc.
