FRIENDS OF THE NATURAL AREAS

Because you care – because you can!

Friends of the Natural Areas support the goals and objectives of the Miami University Natural Areas to provide a green belt of tranquility, research and beauty to the Oxford Area.

With over 1000 acres and 15 miles of trails nestled among ponds, mature woods, streams and fields, this area is a treasure to our community and the surrounding area.

To become a Friend participants are asked to:

  • Have hiked all 15 miles of the trails. (Maps are available at trail heads & can also be downloaded from our website: Map of Natural Areas
  • Carry a litter bag (provided at trail heads) to help keep the trails clean
  • Report your observations/concerns at the Kiosks at the trail entrances
  • Encourage others to use the trails and follow the rules of trail courtesy

Those agreeing to the above and having completed hiking all the trails will be eligible to purchase, at our cost of $13.50, the Friends cap.

In addition, Friends names will be posted periodically in the Kiosks and a Friends newsletter will be emailed from time to time reporting on activities in the Natural Areas.

Enjoy the challenge even more by getting several of your friends to join you.
