Miami University's Safety Complex - Headquarters for University Police and MU-EMS Hello, and welcome to the Miami University's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program.

We are a division of the Miami University Police Department. A team of 13 university students certified as Emergency Medical Technicians makes up our group of professionals. EMS Coordinator Mr. Howard "Buddy" Jackson oversees our program.

MUEMS provides pre-hospital emergency medical response for athletic and special events on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Some of the events we provide services for include: football, hockey, men's & women's basketball, club and intramural sports & recreation, concerts, commencements and other large assembly functions.

The students of MUEMS are trained and certified as EMT-Basics and EMT-Paramedics by the State of Ohio Division of EMS. Some EMTs maintain certification through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. Several members also commit their time to local fire and EMS departments.

Official 2007-2008 Miami EMS Portrait We are always looking for motivated students with EMT certification to become a part of our team. Openings are advertised periodically throughout the year and will be posted on this site, so please continue to check for current openings. If you would like to request our services for your event, please complete the online request form and we will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
