Application development consists of tasks that result
in an application being deployed. This may include deploying
a product purchased from a vendor as well as writing programs
from technical specifications. In each case, the development
of an application is managed through an appropriate development
methodology. Development work begins when a project or
task has been prioritized and accepted by the IT Services
Leadership Team or by the ISS managers.

development standards to be used by the ISS developers:
Following is a list of steps
to be taken for deploying a product purchased from a
vendor requiring a new server:
Order server and network equipment
Plan and prep space, power, and networking connections
Notify the ISO of the upcoming server installations
(Note: this does not preclude any necessary ISS notifications
to the ISO)
Receive equipment, install in staging room, and install
OS
- Work with application vendor
to install the application on the provided systems
- Work with the CCS Security
Engineer to define needed firewall rules. See Application
& Network Security for details.
The CCS Security Engineer
will work with ISS to establish and test firewall rules
on the test firewalls.
