The testing phase validates that the newly developed
application is working according to the technical specifications
and within the system environment. There are two stages
of testing: unit testing and integration (or acceptance)
testing.
The
developer is responsible for the unit testing and will
verify that the application is performing as specified
in the technical specification document.
At
the completion of the unit testing stage, the application
is ready for the next stage, integration (or acceptance)
testing. Integration testing is performed by the client
and consists of verifying that the newly developed application
functions adequately within its system environment.
In other words, the application functions according
to the requirements, and related applications function
as they did before.
There are several different systems at Miami University
and each system has its own testing environment and
guidelines. Please refer to the list below for the appropriate
