Long Distance Information
Miami University provides the following long distance
service and rate plans:
Faculty/Staff Personal Authorization Codes
A personal authorization code allows you to charge
your personal long distance calls directly to your
account and can be used from virtually any telephone
on any of the Miami University Campuses. Long distance
calls are billed at the 4.9 cents per minute rate.
A detailed list of your calls is provided monthly
and is billed through Payroll Deduction. With a valid
University ID, you can request your personal authorization
code by visiting the Office of Telecommunications
at 200 Robertson Hall.
Domestic Long Distance
Rate of 4.9 Cents Per Minute for Students
The domestic long distance rate of
4.9 cents per minute covers all calls anywhere in the
United States from an on-campus phone, 24 hours a
day, period! No sign-up fees, no that-time - this
time hassles, no small print, and no "Gotcha"
when you get your bill!
Just use your authorization code and
you are set to go. We've already done the math so
there is nothing added. We bill 4.9 cents for the first
minute, then we bill at 6 second increments, so what
you pay for is what you really use. It's all right
there on your Bursar statement.
International Long Distance
Rates for Faculty, Staff and Students
Rates are per minute and apply 24
hours per day all days. All calls are charged for
an initial period of one minute with additional minutes
charged in six second increments, except for calls
to Mexico which are charged in full minute increments.
Calls within the United States are
billed at our Domestic Long Distance Rate.
