Deans Allocation Process (FY10)
A portion of the technology fee ($525,000) is allocated to Schools, the College, and the Library as base allocations (per a formula described below).
Base Allocation Formula
The base allocations are determined by two factors that can be directly tied to the costs of supporting students in a School/College: 1) The number of students with majors in the school/college and 2) the amount of instruction performed by the School/College (as measured by the number credit hours produced). The chart below shows Oxford campus credit hours and enrollment by School/College for the Fall 2008 semester, as well as the projected Deans' Base Allocations:

To determine the allocation for the Library, the model assigns 20% of the credit hours and enrollment to the library as an additional factor. The formula assigns a $20,000 fixed allocation to each School/College, and then assigns half of the remaining $405,000 prorated according to credit hour production and the other half prorated according to enrollment.
The allocation is to purchase only what you specified in your spending plan. Any cost savings realized will remain in your account. When you’d like to spend the cost savings or make changes to what you want to purchase, you must submit an amended spending plan.
Any issues such as compliance with the Guidelines will be resolved
by the Senior Director of Academic Technology
Services in consultation with the Student Chair of the Student Technology
Advisory Council.
