Before You Leave for the Summer, Tips on Passwords and E-mail

Before leaving for the summer, it is important to perform some basic account maintenance. The number one problem that is fielded by the IT Services Support Desk during the summer is that of forgotten passwords. Resolving password problems is much more difficult when you are away from Miami. A little planning can make a big difference.

Banner and BannerWeb Unavailable May 11-15, 2006 for Banner 7 Upgrade

Banner and BannerWeb will be unavailable to students, faculty and staff from Thursday, May 11 at 7 pm until Monday, May 15 at 7 am. This outage period will allow IT Services to update the Banner system from SCT Banner 6 to Banner 7. Banner is the primary administrative software for Miami University. This upgrade will make all components of Banner Internet-accessible applications.

Services to be Funded by Student Technology Fee

Beginning this fall, watch for the introduction of a variety of new and improved services provided to students as a result of a new student technology fee. Specific planned improvements for the 06-07 year include increased Support Desk hours and a new satellite support desk in King Library. An increase in bandwidth for student use is planned as well as an increase in individual network storage space.
