The Snap Surveys software is a suite of integrated software programs for questionnaire design, publication, data collection and analysis. It consists of a core product, Snap Professional 9, and modules that may be added to extend the capabilities.

The installation of the Snap Professional 9 software is required on a Windows computer and supports survey creation in both paper and online formats. There are three components of Snap Surveys available:

• Snap Professional 9
  Snap Professional 9 is a stand alone software package incorporating paper and web surveys. With Snap Professional 9 you can design and publish your questionnaire, enter data and analyze results using tables and charts.
  
  
• Snap Scanning Module
  Use the Scanning Module to scan paper questionnaires/forms and verify data. This module is an add-on to Snap Professional 9 enabling you to scan in completed paper questionnaires and requires software purchase and installation on a Windows computer. The Snap Scanning Module is based on OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and OMR (Optical Mark Recognition).
  
  Purchasing a License(s): To purchase a Scanning Module license(s), please complete the Scanning Module Purchase form. Visit IT Help for purchasing details and/or temporary installation availability.
  
  Requesting Temporary Installation of the Snap Scanning Module
  If you conduct small scale surveys no more than 4 to 5 times per year, you can use the Snap Scanning Module - Temporary Installation Request form to request a temporary installation of the Snap Scanning software on your Windows computer.

  Please note: Due to a limited number of Snap Scanning Module licenses, the software will be available to you for no more than two weeks from the date of installation. Requests will be granted in the order received.

  
  
• Snap Online
  Snap Online is a survey management and analysis system that is used in conjunction with Snap Professional 9. It enables you to publish questionnaires and manage responses using invites, reminders and quotas, and conduct online analyses of the results.

Requesting a Snap Surveys Tool Account

Faculty and staff can use the Snap Surveys Account Request form to submit a request for a Snap Surveys account.

Reminder: To ensure that faculty and staff are familiar with the University data confidentiality requirements, complete the online 'Survey Tools & Data Protection' workshop is required before an account can be created for you. Click the "Training & Related Resources" link on the left navigation pane to access the online session.

To access your Snap Online account at the login screen, enter the following URL in the address line of your browser:

IT Services Print Center Survey Scanning Service

The IT Services Print Center provides a scanning service and can scan in Snap paper survey on your behalf. To learn more about this service, visit the "Print Center Snap Survey Scanning Information" site.
