Founding Director, The Campus Computing Project

We are now entering the third decade of
the "computer revolution in higher education.”
Fueled by both great aspirations and new technologies, many
in the academic community viewed IT as a catalyst for change
-- in classrooms and also in campus operations. Green's presentation
will focus on the context of academe's aspirations for IT,
data that reflect the current IT environment, and the continuing
challenges ahead. |
Kenneth C. Green is the founding
director of The Campus Computing Project (www.campuscomputing.net),
the largest continuing study of the role of information technology
in American colleges and universities. The project is widely cited
by both campus officials and corporate executives as the definitive
source for information about information technology issues affecting
American higher education.
A visiting scholar at School of Educational
Studies of The Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California
and a visiting professor at Case Western Reserve University, Green
is the author/co-author or editor of a dozen books and published
research reports and more than three dozen articles that have
appeared in academic journals and professional publications.
In October 2002, Green received the first EDUCAUSE
Award for Leadership in Public Policy and Practice. The award
cites his work in creating The Campus Computing Project and recognizes
his "prominence in the arena of national and international
technology agendas, and the linking of higher education to those
agendas."
