Who is eligible to purchase Microsoft software for personal computer?
You must be a student, faculty or staff currently affiliated
with Miami University to purchase Microsoft software for personal use. Microsoft has specific requirements
for verification and tracking of software licenses issued
through this contract. To comply with the Microsoft requirements, Miami contracts with e-academy, an on-line software distributor, to sell software for personal computers.
If a faculty or staff member is also a student, you will be able to purchase software based on your primary affiliation. For example, if you are a full-time employee but taking classes part-time, you will be able to purchase software as an employee. If you are a full-time student but working as a student worker you will be classified as a student.
Students: Students must be currently
enrolled in at least one class that, when completed,
will result in the awarding of credit hours verifiable
through the Office of the Registrar. Graduate Assistants
are considered students (not faculty/staff) for purposes
of this contract. "Non-matriculated" students
(students not in a degree-seeking program and post-secondary
students) are eligible to purchase the software, provided
all other requirements are met.
Students planning to attend the Luxembourg campus
should purchase the software prior to leaving for
Luxembourg. Use the link on the left to purchase your software using Miami University's Microsoft software distributor e-academy.
Faculty and Staff: Faculty and staff who are actively employed by the Unversity are allowed to purchase perpetual or subscription copies of the Microsoft software.
