Projects

  • Professor Joseph Johnson of the Psychology department studies how people make judgments and decisions. In the Computational Cognition Laboratory, JDM Lab Suite, a fully-customizable computer program written for him by Greg Reese of the Research Computing Support group, allows Prof. Johnson to record the steps people take when choosing an object from a group. Each object is described by a set of characteristics. The software records how long the subject looks at any characteristic and the order in which he or she makes these observations. The program also computes statistics for the recorded data.
