April 25: Fall students, please bring us a copy
of your ISIC Card. (Full year students, please
wait to buy yours. See below.) MUDEC requires that you purchase
this international ID card because it carries catastrophic insurance.
One of the 11 passport photos is for this card. Additionally, your
family should contact your insurance company to clarify whether
you will be covered while overseas. If you are not, you may want
to purchase Miami’s health insurance policy for one or two
semesters, as appropriate. This card also entitles you to reduced
fees for certain airline tickets, museums, etc. You can purchase
this uptown at Travel Unlimited on or-line at www.myisic.com for
$27 or $22 respectively. It is faster to buy it in person. See the
Green Book for more information.
June - early July: Your housing assignment letter
will be sent to your home address. As soon as you receive it, please
write your host familiy to introduce yourself and let them know
when and how you will be arriving. If you plan to arrive independently
(not on the group flight), it is up to you to contact your host
family and work out a time and place for you to meet them. Do
this ASAP, since your family may be away on vacation and
it may take time to reach them. Send your letter by airmail,
of course. See the Green Book for more information.
July: It is imperative that you e-mail your
flight itinerary (including every flight number, the cities
you depart from, stop over in, and arrive in) and any other travel
arrangements to Mme Crici Dumont, our housing coordinator
in Luxembourg. Her email is cdumont@mudec.lu. Her fax number is
011-352-58-2222-204.
