COMPLETE APPLICATION:

  • Complete all application forms and get signatures required to confirm your eligibility.
  • Send us your completed application packet which should include your Miami University Summer Honors Institute application, Student Eligibility Confirmation form, Financial Aid form (optional) and any required documentation to: Miami University, Lifelong Learning, 127 McGuffey Hall, 210 E. Spring St., Oxford, OH 45056

Deadlines:

  • The "First Priority Scholarship" for students who are from under-represented backgrounds deadline: March 16, 2009 (To be considered for scholarships for under-represented students must meet one of these three criteria: Demonstrate financial need; English as a second language students; Students with disabilities).
  • General Application deadline: April 10, 2009; Miami will send notification of acceptance by April 24, 2009.
  • Student Commitment to Attend forms due May 8, 2009.

Miami University Summer Honors Institute Application
This form is to be completed by any student who would like to participate in the 2009 Be the Change (U Wish 2 C) Summer Honor’s Institute at Miami University.  This application requires a student and parent/guardian signature.

Student Eligibility Confirmation Form
This form certifies your status as a student who has been identified as “gifted” according to the Ohio Department of Education standards.  The Student Eligibility Confirmation form must be completed by the student and requires the signature of a school official (gifted education coordinator, gifted education teacher, guidance counselor, principal, or school psychologist).

Residential Financial Aid Form (optional)
Students who qualify to receive free or reduced-cost lunches, receive public assistance, or whose legal guardians receive public assistance may apply for financial aid to cover the cost of the residential program.  Note, there is no cost to attend the program as a commuter.  This form requires documentation demonstrating eligibility such as a letter from the school, or a copy of a document bearing the name of the parent or student from a public assistance program or agency (USDA/WIC, HUD, etc.).

Student Commitment to Attend Form
If you are accepted to Miami University’s Summer Honor’s Institute Be the Change (U Wish 2 C), you will be notified of acceptance by April 24, 2009.  Once accepted and notified, you will need to complete the Student Commitment to Attend form and return it to our office no later than May 8, 2009.
