provide guidance on the design, implentation,
analysis, and use of assessment through a multitude
of projects, workshops, and consultations.

The main focus of Miami's
assessment activities is to further enhance

INFORMATION
The Assessment Office strives
to increase faculty and staff knowledge about
assessment through a variety of methods, including
news briefs, workshops, and online information.
In addition, the Assessment Staff are available

Briefs:
Assessment Briefs are one-page news briefs that highlight current assessment
projects or provide information about how to conduct assessment projects.
• Assessment
Luncheons: The Assessment Luncheons are
lunchtime workshops that provide useful information
on how to design, conduct, and utilize the
results of assessment.
• Website:
The Assessment Office website provides multiple
sources of information that are useful for
beginners and experts alike. The Assessment
Basics page provides general assessment
guidance, including sample rubrics
and answers to frequently asked questions.
Other areas of the website, such as the Miami

provide detailed
guidelines for submitting assessment reports.

FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE
Small Assessment Grants
support individuals or groups of faculty
or staff in developing and measuring student
learning or development outcomes. Grants are
available for up to $1000. Grant proposals
are typically due during the Spring semester
of each academic year.
• Small
Assessment Grants
Several of the projects
sponsored by the Assessment Office
provide stipends or other financial assistance
to participating faculty and/or departments.
