COM F104 The First Amendment and The American Experience This seminar provides students with the understanding of the historical and theoretical roots of free speech, its contribution to individuals and society, and its limits.
     
GEO F104 Visualizing Miami 's Past: Historical Geography, GIS, and Cartography

Using a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping program and web publishing software, you will create an interactive website which combines technology with historical sources to describe a portion of Miami 's campus from 1809 to the present. You will learn how researchers investigate time and place using these tools and you will develop new skills for information seeking, retrieval, evaluation, and presentation.

     
PHL F110 Cultural Differences: Worlds Apart? Using philosophical theories about the self, objectivity, truth, and reality, the students and the instructor will critically explore the idea that people with vastly different beliefs may live in different worlds. We will critically examine the practical implications of that idea.

SPA F104 Ableism 101: Exploring Communication Disorders This seminar provides students with a better under standing of individuals who have communication disabilities, communication disorders, and the impact of cultural differences.
     
SPN F103 Spanish Cinema and National Identity Through Spanish film theory and history, we answer questions of identity (national, political, sexual.). Students learn how to argue, from a cinematic perspective, many sides of the question.
     
THE F102 A Course of Possibilities In this seminar we explore the world of possibility through experiences with art, music, and theatre by looking at how the fine arts teach us to go beyond the restraints on our lives.
