Dr. Cheng developed a critical thinking rubric to assess term papers in his MBI 365, Molecular Biology, course.  He provided the rubric to the students during the period when they were developing the paper in hopes that it would clarify his instructions. He also discussed how critical thinking should be integrated into their term paper.  He found that students performed better on the paper than previously.  He plans to also use the rubric for peer review in the future.
