    3) Staff Changes in Study Abroad

Study Abroad Adviser Marcia Waller will be retiring this summer after 17 years in our office.  She has helped thousands of students to study abroad during this time, and participation in OIE programs has increased almost 500% since she has been with us!  If you want to get in touch with Marcia before she leaves, her contact information can be found here:  http://www.units.muohio.edu/internationalprograms/about.php#waller

If you have been working with Marcia on a scholarship application or applying for an exchange program, your new contact is Richard Menard, who will be joining our office at the beginning of July.  We will be updating our website with his contact information once he joins us in the office.  You can also send email to international@muohio.edu if you're not sure  who to contact.

    4) Featured Study Abroad Program of the Month: School for Field Studies

If you're looking for a program that gets you off the beaten path, School for Field Studies may have what you're looking for!  Their programs focus on field research in various aspects of environmental studies, including:

    • Sustainable Development Studies in Costa Rica
    • Marine Resource Management Studies in Turks & Caicos (Caribbean)
    • Wildlife Management Studies in Kenya
    • Conserving Marine Mammals and Coastal Ecosystems in Mexico
    • Tropical Rainforest Studies in Australia

These programs will get you out of the classroom and into challenging, exotic locations like wild animal preserves or rainforests!  This program is ideal for students who like to spend time outdoors and explore new climates and environments.  The coursework is a good match for students studying related fields like Zoology or Environmental Sciences, for those who want to do a self-designed thematic sequence in environmental studies, or for students who have the flexibility to incorporate development, wildlife management or other environmental-related courses into their other coursework.
