2012 Photo Contest Rules and Information
It's time again for the Miami University Office of International Education's annual Study Abroad Photography Contest! Miami students, faculty and staff who have participated in study abroad programs between summer 2010 and Fall 2011 are welcome to submit photographs for consideration in this year's contest. The deadline for submission is Friday, March 30, 2012. The top photographs will be announced at the International Fair on April 20th and later displayed in MacMillan Hall this spring.
This year's categories are:
- Student Life
Miami students abroad, classmates from all over the world, classroom experiences, field trips, student activities and organizations
- People, Cultures and Traditions
The way of life in your study abroad location
- Study Abroad Views
Streets, architecture, landscapes
- Studying in Unique Places
What's special or different about the region/country/city where you studied abroad? What are the best things about that place? What do you think more people should know about that place? (Photos will be printed with titles only, so please explain your photo in the title)
Please send no more than one photograph per category, in high-resolution electronic format (either from a digital camera or a high-res scanned version of a film picture - photographs will be enlarged to 8x10"). Include a title for each photograph, as well as the location, the category, your name as you want to be identified and the study abroad program you were on. Photographs can be sent by email to Jennifer Ward.
The top photos in each category (as chosen by our office) will be displayed in MacMillan Hall. We reserve the right to reassign your photos to a more appropriate category as we see fit. By submitting your photos to the contest, you give Miami University and the Office of International Education permission to use your submissions for publicity and promotional purposes, including brochures, websites and presentations.
Thanks for participating! We look forward to another great Study Abroad Photography Contest this year.
