University Housing
Undergraduate Students
The University requires all new undergraduate students who are beginning their studies in this country for the first time to live in a residence hall during their first two years of study. This way, you can make new friends and more easily become involved in campus life. Since most of the rooms are for two students, you will probably have a U.S. roommate. You must sign a contract to remain in the residence hall for two semesters (one semester if you enroll in January). Double occupancy room rent for the 2007-2008 academic year is $2205.00 per semester. Single occupancy room rent for the 2007-2008 academic year is $3075.00 per semester. Housing during breaks and summer may be arranged in alternate locations at an additional cost. Two weeks after the contract is signed it becomes legally binding.
If you are over 21 years of age, you can live off campus but you must contact the Office of Student Housing (salemjl@muohio.edu).
Bedding (sheets, pillows, pillow cases, and blankets) is not provided by the University. Students will need to bring these items with them or purchase them after arrival.
All students who live in residence halls must buy their meals from the University. The dining halls where meals are served may be located in a separate building or they may be part of the residence hall. Fruits, vegetables, meats, and freshly baked goods are partof the bill of fare. A variety of vegetarian entrees and side dishes from all over the world are also available. You may select the meal plan of your choice when completing the contract. Costs and services are based on the academic semester. A 21-meal per week plan for 2007-08 is $2095 per semester, but other meal plans are available.

You would be required to purchase a university meal plan and eat in one of our dining halls. The administration of residence halls is located in the Office of Student Housing and Meal Plan Services, 111 Shriver Center. You will receive a residence hall application with your visa document.
