Employment for J-1 Students
Contact Molly Heidemann for information on employment.
- J-1 - Academic Training - You are given 18 months of this type of employment that can be used either part-time during school year or full-time after completion of studies. You must have an offer of employment that is related to your field of study, and authorization is given by your sponsor (the organization or institution that issue your DS-2019).
- J-2 - Spouses of J-1s can apply for employment authorization from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service. For more information, see http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-765instr.pdf and download the I-765 here (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-765.pdf).
