Academic Calendar
Miami follows a semester calendar. The year is divided into two semesters of 16 weeks each. The fall (first) semester begins in late August and ends in mid-December. The spring (second) semester begins in early January and ends in May, with a week-long spring break in March. The University also has summer classes. Students are admitted at the beginning of each semester (in August or January). However, students applying for admission to architecture, or to graduate study in psychology or in business administration can be considered only in the fall semester which begins in August.
