If you are injured in an accident at work and require medical treatment, you may go to any medical provider for initial treatment. For minor injuries, employees are encouraged to seek treatment with Student Health Services (SHS) as outlined on the accident and injury report page.
If you need to seek outside treatment, a claim must be filed with the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. This can be done through our MCO, CompManagement Health Systems. Please call their injury report number at 1-888-247-4800; this will initiate a claim.
An injury may occur outside SHS operating hours, may require follow-up treatment and/or physical therapy, or be of such a nature that referral to an outside physician is necessary. If this is the case, you may seek treatment with a Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) certified physician.
You and your treating provider will need to complete a First Report of Injury or FROI and fax this form to CompManagement Health Systems at 1-800-334-4229. CompManagment is the managed care organization which handles workers’ compensation claims for Miami University.
For a list of treating providers in the area, please contact: CompManagement Health Systems at 1-888-247-4800.
The nearest occupational health center is Ross Urgent Care. Ross Urgent Care is a service of McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital outpatient services.
