If you are not majoring in history, this minor is an opportunity for you to satisfy an interest, strengthen your degree, and enhance your preparation for a career or further education.

The minor will fulfill the Miami Plan Thematic Sequence requirement.

You must complete a minimum of 18 semester hours in history with a 2.0 grade point average. These courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit).
Requirements include six semester hours from the following introductory surveys. You may select any two courses; they need not be in a sequence.

HST 111, 112 (3, 3), Survey of U.S. History
HST 121, 122 (3, 3), Western Civilization
HST 197, 198 (3, 3), World History

The remaining 12 semester hours must be history courses at the 200 level and above.
