CARSON, James W. (1951); further graduate studies at Syracuse University and the University of Pennsyvania.  Taught at Dickinson College (PA), 1956-1991.  Interested in South Asia, he received a Ford Foundation fellowship to study in India and a U.S. Department of Education grant to study in Pakistan.  Carson died in 2005.
