History at Miami

Welcome to the Miami University Department of History! We hope you choose to join us for an undergraduate major, minor, or even a few classes; as a full-time Masters student, or part time as a teacher taking advanced credits. If so, you will learn that history isn’t just “names and dates” but also analysis; not just “facts” but their significance; not just a time and place in the past but humans living and loving, creating and destroying as we always have; not just “history repeating itself” but people making decisions in different conditions and sometimes acting on different values. Enter our website and browse! Join us and learn!
