JAPANESE STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS
ONE-YEAR PROGRAMS
(One semester option is available in some programs.)
Kansai Gaidai University, Osaka, Japan
A one-year exchange program is available to full-time undergraduates at Miami. Students live with families, and take classes in the Asian Studies program in Japanese language. Other courses are taught in English. Students pay Miami tuition and fees and room and board. Prerequisites are two years of university level Japanese (JPN 202) and a minimum 3.0 GPA. In addition to a long time exchange partner, Kansi Gaidai University, there are more options are available in terms of the length, area, and variety of courses, through Miami affiliated and non-affiliated programs. It is important to talk to a Study Abroad Advisor at the International Education Office at Miami University if you are interested in this exchange program. They will guide you through the application process which must be done through their office. If you are choosing one of the Kansai Gaidai's affiliated programs, the application form and process are slightly different from the general public. For more specific information regarding this program, please visit the Japanese Study Abroad pages or the Kansai Gaidai pages in the International Education Office.
