Graduate Programs
Miami's Department of Geology and Environmental Earth Science offers three programs for advanced study (Ph.D., M.S., and M.A.) as well as a combined Bachelors/MA program. Both the Ph.D. and the M.S. require a substantial component of original research culminating in a dissertation or thesis, respectively. The M.A. is a non-thesis degree. For more information on our research programs please click here. For a downloadable copy of application procedures and program requirements please click here.
The department also participates in a program which offers a Ph.D. degree in the EEEB program (Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology). The program involves several departments and centers, and over 40 participating faculty. For more information go to the EEEB program website.
