The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is seeking a Planning Intern to assist the Programming & Planning Department. This is a temporary summer intern position.
DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Director of Programming & Planning, the Planning Intern will assist in the analysis and graphing of data released from the 2010 Census to determine what information will provide support to RTA in its operations, planning and funding. Information must comply with Title VI, FTA regulations and Language Equivalency requirements. Information will allow RTA to plot demographic changes surrounding its stations, routes and facilities. The Planning Intern will provide assistance on the Blue Line Alternative Analysis project; assist with planning studies for the Westside Transit Center, Woodhill Station, Blue Line Extension and the Strategic Plan, and will also provide assistance with the upgrading of the RTA signage manual. The intern will be responsible for data analysis and GIS mapping.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must have completed the first year of Graduate school with studies in Urban Planning, Design and Development is preferred. Experience in computerized l research and experience with GIS is required. Applicants must submit a resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcript. A writing sample may be requested.
WAGE RATE: $15.00 per hour
