at Miami University
The Department offers majors in French and Italian Studies and minors and thematic sequences in both French and Italian. French graduate candidates can earn an M.A. in literature.

With a strong commitment to students at all levels of the curriculum, the Department enjoys an international reputation for intellectual vigor, innovation, and collegiality. Students will find that their professors are challenging but also supportive and accessible.

Many students take advantage of the outstanding summer study abroad programs run by the Department in Dijon, France and Urbino, Italy.

The international character in the Department is enhanced by foreign faculty and graduate students, international colloquia, film and lecture series, and by extra-curricular activities organized through the French Corridor and clubs.
