Brad Caldwell (M.M., University Of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, 1999; M.M., Austin Peay State University, 1997) is currently vocal coach/accompanist at
Miami University and director of music at St. John United Church of Christ, Bellevue, KY.
In 1998, he received the honor of being one of ten singer/pianist teams chosen to participate in the week-long Cleveland Art Song Festival. That same year, he and Audrey Luna were winners of the Vocal Arts Resource Network Competition in Ohio for voice and piano teams. Caldwell has had the privilege of premiering several works with piano parts specifically written for him by American composers Jeffery Wood and George Mabry. During 1999-2000 he appeared on recitals in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York City, and Washington D.C., and he concluded the season as accompanist/coach for Cincinnati Opera's production of Debussy's Pelleas et Melisande. Caldwell earned a B.S. and M.M. in piano performance from Austin Peay State University and a M.M. in vocal accompanying from CCM. He also studied at the Advanced Institute for Vocal Studies, Conservatoire de Paris, France, where he was the recipient of the coveted Outstanding Collaborative Artist Award. His teachers include Anne Glass, Jeffrey Wood, Richard Morris, Kenneth Griffiths, Donna Loewy, and Sandra Rivers. Caldwell specializes in French melodie and contemporary American art song.
